ABout the Builder: Jimmy Meyer

2013 Houston Hunters Extravaganza
Jimmy Meyer has been building since August of 1997 and is a registered 01 FFL dealer. He is going on his 19th year as Atascosa's 4H Shooting Sports rifle coach and was an active member of the Jourdanton Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He is a proud member of the NRA and stands up for what he believes is right.
He was born and raised in deer hunting country and was raised with a love for the sport as well as the animals. Some of his earliest memories are in hunting camps or on hunting leases in South Texas listening to all the "elders" talking about and showing off their rifles. As he got older, his interests changed to building the perfect rifle, and it became some sort of challenge to him. Is the perfect rifle one that's taken the most trophies home, or is it the one that's taken the trophy at the greatest distance or under the worst conditions? He's spent most of his life researching just about every type of rifle you can imagine and has never passed up the opportunity to listen to a rifle owner tell why his or her rifle is so special. They come in all shapes and sizes, but there is one thing the perfect rifle has to have. It has to have the confidence of it's owner, and no doubts to how their rifle will perform.
Hunters enjoy coming to his shop because it's a one man operation. From their first interest in a custom built rifle to the day they take it home, they've dealt with the person that's going to be doing all the work. Everyone likes the idea of getting to know the person that's going to be building his or her prized rifle. They're not just asking questions or ordering from someone who just answers the phone or sits behind a desk.
So come on down, and let's discuss the technical aspects of marksmanship.
